Ballroom-inspired house and slamming techno grooves from a unique artist Bashkka at Distortion Ø
Born and raised in Munich, Bashkka spent her formative years in New York, where she was exposed to the vibrant ballroom scene of the city. Her daring approach and incisive track selection have led her to regular gigs at Panorama Bar, a Blitz Munich residency, and a Glastonbury debut.
She released her debut album ‘Maktub’ on Nene H’s imprint UMAY – a collection of Chicago-influenced house, ballroom sonics and Kurdish vocal samples. Her multiple inspirations echo her uncompromising support for SWANA and queer voices, as well as her continuous tribute to dance music’s Black and Brown roots.
