Copenhagen Distortion - Celebrating Street Life and Modern Party Culture - is the craziest annual party cavalcade in Old Europe, with 166+ dancefloors in 166+ different locations and 166+ different hosts. The Distortion fest includes massive Block Party celebrations - in the streets, for free, in the afternoon - and Club events, late at night, in local bars, nightclubs and spectacular Copenhagen locations.
Every day 16.00-22.00h, Distortion gathers between 22.222 and 111.111 people partying, breakdancing, cooking, getting naked, singing and crawling in the streets. It’s free and it’s got a rare anything-goes vibe.
Each night 22.00-06.00h, we host a music festival for musically savvy club goers. Don’t miss the FINAL PARTY. The all-access TurPas bracelet is cheap (€ 55 / dkk 400), the bar is also cheap (beer € 2,6/dkk 20) and we usually do partnerships with Europa’s maestros of contemporary party culture: Melt!, Vice, Fabric, Das Kompakt, Le Dirty Sound System, Trouw, Ed Bangers, Erol Alkan, RBMA… It’s basically a mega-rave with 66 intimate dancefloors over 5 days (we try to avoid giant dancefloors). We have been a small “just-for-fun” celebration, for an open clique of Copenhagen party-culture-antifashion-art-disco nerds, since 1998. Between 2003 and 2007, we grew without really growing up. In 2008, we started to pretend we were a serious festival: we opened a company (Nus/Nus ApS), we made a budget (yey!), got an office (hum hum) and a beautiful trashy black 1982 stretch-limousine.
Since we went semi-pro in 2008, things have gone fast. In 2011 we entered the event superleague with 130.000+ individual guests…

WHY SO SPECIAL
With time, we have grown and become semi-pro. But some primitive party rules like “no vip area” and “we really want everybody to lose control” (including ourselves), have remained.
Also: the festival is 100% mobile. Each day the street parties take place in a new neighbourhood - and we always have plenty of bus parties, boat parties, bride parties, parades. And we always, always host events in spectacular one-off locations from basements to rooftops.
