Old-Europe's craziest annual party cavalcade, orchestrating 80+ parties in a week, is the most complicated-yet-deadly-simple festival on earth: the Distortion BlockParties take place in the streets, for free, while the sun sets - and the Distortion ClubClash programme takes place late at night in spectacular Copenhagen locations, with overwhelming line-ups. Distortion = 51% old-fashioned celebration of fun and freedom + 49% the hottest shit in the party-business.
Distortion Final Party is always on the first Saturday of June. We have special rules like "no special area", so everyone always feels welcome, and "never use the same location twice", so the 80 Distortion events happen in 80 different locations with 80 different hosts. We orchestrate these receptions/bus-party/backyard-party/bridge-parties/boat-party - and a few afterparties - all over Copenhagen, always on the move.

DISTORTION BY DAY = BLOCK PARTY

Every day 16-23h, Distortion gathers 10.000-15.000 people partying, breakdancing, cooking, getting naked, singing and crawling in the streets: it's called BLOCK PARTY. It's FREE - and it takes place 5 days in a row in 5 different Copenhagen neighbourhoods. A little like London's Notting Hill Carnival and Barcelona's Sonar By Day - only without so many rastas or "A&R" dudes.

By night 22-05h, we call it CLUB CLASH. The Festival all-access TurPas is very cheap, the drinks are incredibly cheap - and the Distortion dancing man on the wall is a guarantee for 189% crazyness, with the true party maestros of Europa and an army of hungered party animals.

We have been a small "just-for-fun" festival, for an open clique of Copenhagen party-culture nerds, since 2000. Between 2003 and 2007, we learnt a bunch of wicked Jedi-festival mind-tricks from all over the world - and we grew without really growing up. In 2008, we started to pretend we were a serious festival, with a budget, an office and a trashy limousine. "WOW!" is the typical response we have been getting from people like the world's leading motherfuckers in the party-business (directors from Modular, WoodWood, Fabric London, Vice, Kompakt...). 2009 was even bigger - and the international breakthrough is only just starting...
